We Bought & Tested The Most Popular Dash Cams, Here’s Why TruView Pro is #1
SUMMARY: Specifically designed to document everything on the road in 4K with its ultra-wide 170° lens, and up to 32 GB of footage. Furthermore, it has a motion sensor and a G-force sensor. Finally, the camera automatically locks footage if you’ve been in an accident so it can’t be overwritten from the looping feature. In other words, you’re covered!
I made a u-turn from where I was parked next to my house. As I was halfway around, I saw a car coming in with extremely high speed around the corner ahead of me.
Seeing me like a barn on the road, the incoming car freaked and hit the breaks, causing him to swerve out of his lane, resulting in him hitting me head-on, swinging my car 190 degrees around. After the collision, he STILL had enough momentum to continue an additional 30 feet before he came to a stop.
Sure, I made a questionable u-turn, but the incoming car was going WAY above the speed limit, and I thought there would be proof considering there were 60 feet long break tracks.
The first thing he said when he stepped out of his car was “I’m gonna lose my license for sure now”.
This might seem like a clear case, but in the end, it went on my insurance.
I had a dashcam but believe it or not, the 110-degree camera angle just missed the other car. And I couldn’t prove that my u-turn was safe and that he was speeding.
"Studies have shown that between scams and unreliable narratives, up to 40% of accidents are attributed to the wrong person."
I was so disappointed, had the dash camera just had a slightly wider angle, I would have won the case.
When looking for an upgrade I found a TruView Pro from watchtheroads which specializes in dash cameras.
It has won the hearts of consumers all over the world with thousands of five-star reviews. I wanted the best, but surprisingly, it was also affordable, most of the big brands take a fee for the sake of the brand itself it seems. However, as the name implies, TruView Pro focused only on reputation and performance.
First Impression
I got the TruView Pro delivered to my door only two days after ordering it.
When I opened the box I immediately saw what I was looking for - not a GoPro or some kind of action camera that many seem to be using, but a camera specifically developed for capturing the world on the road.
Since dash cameras are supposed to work in the background, not needing your immediate attention, yet have to be accessible while driving, the UI must be simple, the mount agile, and the whole setup must be discrete yet visible enough to work as a deterrent. Quite the recipe.
The TruView Pro has obviously done their homework! It captures everything around your car when you turn the ignition, and the easy-to-use design lets you go to “parking mode” with a click of a button.
Features
You can't compare the TruView Pro with anything in its price class, this is why.
- 24 x7 Motion-Detect Parking Monitor - Just switch on the parking monitor & the dash camera will automatically start recording when it detects motion in the car radius to record any theft/vandalism attempts.
- 1080P HD Camera - High definition is extremely important as your video might be worthless if it can’t read a license plate from a car because it's not capturing video in high definition. TruView Pro on the other hand captures in 4K, the same quality as the ActionCamera used to film the blockbuster The Hobbit.
- G-sensor - Helps to prove what forces were applied in an accident. When a certain threshold is triggered TruView Pro locks the recording so it cant be overwritten.
- Loop recording - Record over and over and over again. Never worry about changing memory cards, or if the card is full. This feature makes sure you’re always backed with video proof.
- Wide Angle Camera - TruView Pro includes a Dual Channel Front & Rear camera that records 1080P with a 170° field view for a crystal clear viewing experience.
- IR Enabled Night Vision Lens - Automatic Night Vision ensures TruView Pro records the minutest details in ultra-low light during nighttime & even in the darkest roads ahead of you.
- Flexible mounting options - The camera rotates 360°, tilts 90°, and suctions to your vehicle for a strong, secure grip.
Testing
I pressed the power button and the camera started as it came half charged ( convenient! )
I recorded while I walked around my house and went from dark to bright lit rooms to see how well the exposure would adjust to sudden changes of light conditions.
Just imagine how useless this would be if the headlight from a car at night would blind the aperture and render the whole video useless.
Video Quality
When I had enough material I checked the footage on my TV.
The video quality was amazing! It looked like a video from a modern DSLR camera!
It’s obvious that the TruView Pro is made for conditions on the road as it comes with a really good and diverse aperture that has no problem adjusting from dark tunnels to suddenly being outside in the bright sun.
On most cameras, a sudden change in brightness makes the picture too dark or too bright for a couple of seconds while the camera adjusts or adapts.
But the TruView Pro manages flawlessly, an important feature since you don’t want to have a problem with focus or bad exposure when you use the footage to prove your case.
My Kids Got Hit By a Bus
My kids got hit by a bus at an intersection.
She didn’t know she had to catch up with the bus or get the license plate or anything.
However thanks to the dashcam we could figure out the details for our insurance company.
This is a benefit I hadn’t thought about. When you lend your car to your kids or friends, you have additional security and backup. A really good feature.
Saves everyone from unnecessary anxiety!
- Encourage safe driving - Dash cameras promote safe driving naturally. Bad habits seem to dissolve in the presence of a camera. You subconsciously know that you are observed, keeping you from making decisions motivated by “It doesn’t hurt if no one knows”.
- Reduced insurance premiums - Lastly, a dash cam can have cost-effective benefits for you as a driver. For example, lower insurance premiums.
Verdict
So there is no doubt in my mind, I am keeping the TruView Pro for myself.
I even recommend it to the best, safest, and most professional drivers out there, because it’s not your driving that is the problem, It’s just that you need proof when someone else drives like a maniac.
With the TruView Pro, you’ll have all the features, battery life, 4K HD video quality to prove your case.
And to offer some peace of mind to you and your loved ones.

How Can It Be So Affordable?
Other brands spend billions and billions on advertising. Guess who pays for that in the end? The customer!
TruView Pro does very little advertising as they started on a very small scale and have managed to become what they are today by delivering quality to customers without an expensive flashy bonnet to seal the deal.
They also don’t sell in any retail stores, it’s strictly online. This lets them keep the prices down as they don’t need to rent big store warehouses that have tons of staff.
Why Is It Discounted Right Now?
As the founders of the TruView Pro know that they have a superior product they only need the word to spread so that people can try it for themselves.
By getting their product in as many hands as possible, more buzz will be generated as well as more sales. And it seems to work because they are constantly running out of stock!
